We do everything we can to support our nurses to provide high quality, compassionate care. This includes making sure that we have the right number of nurses, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time.
The number of nurses required on our inpatient wards will vary, depending on the type of service provided, the ward environment and its proximity to other wards.
You will see information outside each of our inpatient wards about who’s in charge and how many nurses are on duty each shift.
Following the publication of the report of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust public inquiry (the Francis report) all trusts have been asked to produce a summary of the numbers of nursing staff available across all inpatient wards in the previous month.
Here are our most recent reports
The summary reports will show how many nurses we were planning to have on each ward compared to the actual number of nurses that were on duty each day.
We submit reports to our board of directors about nurse staffing. You can view these within our board papers on our board papers page.
