Our NHS Talking Therapies Employment Advisor team provide free, impartial employment support and advice for clients accessing the Talking Therapies service in York and Selby.
Whether you’re currently employed, looking for work, or signed off sick, your Employment Advisor can offer personalised support to enable you to remain in work, find work or return to work.
We offer regular one to one appointments via telephone, video call, or face to face.

Some of the ways our NHS Employment Advisors can help you include:
- Support with goal setting and creating a personalised employment support action plan.
- Help with CV writing, cover letters, and job applications.
- Tips for finding your ideal career and utilising your skills.
- Interview preparation.
- Guidance on managing issues in the workplace and identifying solutions.
- Advice and support on discussing reasonable adjustments with employers.
- Ongoing support when returning to work after sickness or unemployment.
- Signposting to benefits information.
You must currently be receiving Talking Therapies treatment or be on a waiting list for treatment within the service to be eligible for NHS Talking Therapies Employment Advisor support.
