Children and young people
If you’re a child or young person with experience of CAMHS, there are lots of fun and helpful ways you can get involved and make a difference.
Activities to get involved in include:
- Interviewing and choosing new people to work at CAMHS by asking them questions and telling us what you think
- Going to events about children and young people’s mental health to talk about CAMHS and share your story
- Making helpful information like posters and leaflets that are easier for other young people to understand
- Helping with workshops and groups such as emotional and wellbeing skills groups for children and young people (Durham and Teesside)
- Joining one of our local groups where you can meet others and talk about how to make CAMHS better
- Telling us what you think by doing surveys or online questionnaires about CAMHS and how we can improve
Some of these activities are supported by our friends at Investing in Children Durham.
Why get involved?
- You can help make CAMHS better for other young people
- You can speak up for others who might be going through similar things and feeling the same as you
- You’ll learn new skills and feel more confident
- You’ll meet other young people and adults who care about mental health too
How to find out more
Please ask your CAMHS worker or email [email protected].
