Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust has welcomed six new and 10 newly re-elected public and staff governors following recent elections.
The Council of Governors plays a key role in our Trust, providing an authentic, constructive voice for patients, carers, families, staff, partners and the communities they represent.
Supporting improvement
Trust chair David Jennings said: “We’re delighted to welcome all our new and newly re-elected governors to the Trust.
“The Council of Governors (CoG) is a key part of our governance and plays an important role in working with the Trust to foster and support our improvement programme.
“When every new governor is appointed, we take great steps to support them – especially in understanding how the CoG undertakes its crucial role of constructive challenge and collective holding to account the Board, non-executive directors, and most importantly me as chair.
“Our governors also play a vital part in driving home our delivery of Our Journey to Change and the positive differences we are making to our services for the benefit of current and future patients.”
Future plans
Governor induction days are currently taking place, with follow-up sessions planned for September – covering key roles, responsibilities and our Trust’s constitution and policies.
