People with lived experience are being sought to help improve adult mental health services in North Yorkshire.
Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale Mental Health Partnership is already working with community groups, charities, the NHS and housing organisations to enhance local services.
However, the Partnership would also like to include the input of people living with mental illness – to ensure their experiences are used to help shape future improvements.
Shaping the future
Mark Hopley, chair of the Partnership, said: “Our group is committed to improving local mental health services and opportunities for people living with a mental illness.
“We believe it is important to have people with lived experience involved in local conversations about how local services can be improved.”
The group, which meets once a month, is hoping to appoint up to four people with a range of experiences of different local mental health services.
Your experience is needed
Meetings are held both online and in-person, with travel expenses paid. Help and support can also be provided if there are difficulties with getting online access.
“We would particularly like to hear from people who are in regular contact with others who are living with a mental illness and/or caring for an adult with a mental illness,” said Mark.
