The aim is to improve patient care across our communities including Durham, Tees Valley, North Yorkshire and York.
GP education
Our comprehensive programme of mental health continued professional development (CPD), for GPs and other primary care clinicians, focuses on improving patient experience. It includes:
- perinatal care
- dementia
- attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- shared learning for referral pathways, NICE guidance and primary and secondary care processes
GP liaison
We link with primary care colleagues to provide both a primary care and a mental health perspective. It also helps us to share guidance and pathways and respond to current issues.
Education and training
Planned learning opportunities for the future include mental health curriculum for primary care, physical skills training for psychiatrists, a mental health conference and multi-professional reflective practice groups.
