TV crews from ITV Tyne Tees and BBC Look North this week visited Kilton View, our day care service for adults with severe learning disabilities in North Yorkshire, to meet a very special little star.
Just two years ago Josie, one of our amazing therapy dogs, was a stray struggling for survival on the streets of Romania. She was later caged in a kill shelter and earmarked for death.
Miraculously, the Golden Retriever mix was rescued just in time and has found a forever home with our Trust volunteer Becky Gaynon-Johnson and her family in Redcar.
Now, after being nursed back to health, the little dog with a big heart is bringing happiness to our Trust patients across Teesside and North Yorkshire as a specialist Pets As Therapy animal.
