The Trust’s research and development team has just been shortlisted for an award in the Clinical Research Nursing category at the prestigious 2022 Nursing Times Awards.
The nomination follows TEWV’s introduction of new initiatives allowing nurses to play key roles in the development and delivery of research to improve care and treatment for patients, their families and carers.
Head of research, Sarah Daniel, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted. Nurses are the largest professional group in our Trust but are underrepresented in research activities. This was something we were keen to address.
“We now support student nurse placements, have nurses as research champions and delivering research interventions. We have introduced joint clinical and research posts and have supported several nurses to progress to PhD level study.
“We are proud to work with two nurse research leaders in our Trust, who are chief investigators for prestigious national research programmes evaluating behavioural activation.
“We look forward to presenting our work to the judging panel, and networking with and learning from other inspirational nurses.”
The team will find out if they’ve won at a ceremony on Wednesday 26 October at Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London.
