Young people are being asked for their help in shaping the future of County Durham’s mental health care in paediatric wards and emergency departments.
Investing in Children (IiC) will host a Children and Young People’s Mental Health meeting this Saturday, to discuss ways of co-creating high quality, effective and personalised support.
Anyone interested – including parents and carers – is invited to attend the event, which is supported by both our Trust and County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
Emma Taylor, trustwide Children and Young People Services involvement lead said: “This meeting is to let people know what is happening within this area of healthcare transformation.
“This is a chance to get involved at the very start of the project. It’s an exciting opportunity for us all to work together and in partnership with Investing in Children.”
The meeting will be held at The Acley Centre, Carers Way, Newton Aycliffe on 25 November, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
“You don’t have to have experience of paediatric mental health services to attend, but we are looking for people interested in co-creating ways of improving future care,” said Chris Affleck, project manager and mental health lead for IiC.
To confirm your attendance, or request further information, email: [email protected] or call 0191 307 7030.
“The engagement will develop depending on how young people, teams and partners want to get involved and share their views and ideas on how to improve the health care of children and young people in Durham and Darlington,” added Emma.
- An involvement fee for attendance will be paid and public transport costs can be reimbursed. Please get in touch with Chris if help with transport is needed
