Your chance to shape the future of our services
We’re looking for new voices, from a variety of backgrounds, to add to our council of governors. They’ll help to shape the future of mental health and learning disability services in our communities.
No previous experience is needed, and training and support is provided for ALL governors.
However, you need to be 16 or over and live in the constituency that you’ll be representing*.
Governors’ responsibilities include:
Representing the interests of members and the public:
Governors represent the views of patients, carers, staff, stakeholders members and the wider public.
Holding the board to account:
Governors are responsible for seeking assurance from the Board of Directors and holding the non-executive directors accountable for the performance of the board.
Approving key decisions:
They approve the appointment of the Chief Executive, the Trust’s auditor and significant transactions like mergers, acquisitions or dissolutions.
Contributing to the Trust’s future direction:
Governors contribute to the future direction of the Trust and ensure that the views of members are heard by the Board of Directors.
