We can’t wait to welcome you to the start line of the TEWV 10k and TEWV Fun Run on Sunday 26 April 2026.
This guide contains all the information you need. Please read before you arrive to help the event run smoothly on the day.
Arriving on site
The TEWV 10k and TEWV Fun Run will take place at the Knavesmire, York Racecourse, Racecourse Road, Knavesmire Road, York, YO23 1EX.
Picking up your run number
There will be a pick-up station at the Knavesmire on the day of the event, from 8am, for both 10k and Fun Run numbers.
Please be mindful of queues and make sure you give yourself plenty time.
Don’t forget to fill in the emergency contact information on the back of your number.
We’ll have spare safety pins but please bring some if you can.
Travel and parking
There will be free on-site parking off Knavesmire Rd, which will be signposted. There will also be marshals around the area if you need assistance.
York has excellent motorway connections to the M1, M62, and A1(M), providing convenient access to major cities across the UK.
There’s also a Park and Ride which is located outside of the city centre.
Baggage
There will be a baggage area near the finish line. Bags will be left at your own risk.
Start times
TEWV Fun Run: 10.20am
TEWV 10k: 11am
The TEWV Fun Run is 1 mile and will start and finish at the large inflatable gantry. Please note – this is not the same start line as the 10k event.
The 10k start line is located on the Knavesmire (please see the map for location) and will be signposted. Please note, the walk to the start line is around 15 minutes so please give yourself time.
Toilets will be located at the start and finish lines.
There will be no changing facilities available at the event.
There is no warm-up at the event but YO1 Radio will be setting you on your way.
10k course
The 10k course will be just over 3 laps, passing through the start area each time. There will be a water station provided on course at every lap. The event is chip-timed.
We ask that you don’t wear headphones while running, as this can stop you from hearing important messages from our marshals.
Map of the event

Photography / filming
We will be filming and taking photographs at the event. These may be used on our social media channels, website and future promotional materials. If you don’t want your photo or footage to be used please speak to a member of staff on the day.
When you finish
Once you’ve completed the 10k, you can collect your medal, running buff, water and finisher’s treat from our volunteers.
Fun Run finishers will collect a medal, water and finisher’s treat.
The 10k is chip-timed and you will receive your finish time by text after you cross the finish line.
Weather
We can’t control the weather, so please check the forecast in advance and dress appropriately. If it’s hot, be prepared with sun cream and a hat.
Food and drink
The Little Yorkshire Coffee Company will be on the Knavesmire serving hot drinks and hand baked artisan cakes on the day.
The Dark Horse Espresso Bar is also open. You can find it at 147A Bishopthorpe Rd, York, YO23 1NZ. It’s a 10 minute walk from the Knavesmire or a few minutes by car with limited on street parking. You’ll receive 10% off if you show your run number.
Event terms
In the unlikely event of abandonment or cancellation of the TEWV 10k, all or part of your entry fee may be retained for the management and administration of the event. No refunds or transfers are allowed under any circumstances.
