We can’t wait to welcome you to the start line of the TEWV 10k on Sunday 21 April.
This guide contains all the information you need.
Picking up your run number
To pick up your run number, there will be a pickup station on Saturday 20 April, 2pm – 4pm at: Up and Running York, 9 Colliergate, York, YO1 8BP.
Runners will also be able to buy shoes, clothing, accessories, and nutrition with 15% off on the Saturday.
You can also pick up your number on Sunday, on the event site at Knavesmire, where the run will be taking place. If you do have to pick up your number on Sunday, please be mindful of queues and make sure you give yourself plenty time.
Please don’t forget to fill in the emergency contact information on the back of your number.
Travel
York benefits from excellent motorway connections to the M1, M62, and A1(M), providing convenient access to major cities across the UK. Newcastle and Liverpool are both reachable in under two hours’ drive.
There is also a Park and Ride available which is just located outside of the city centre.
Arriving on site
The TEWV 10k will take place at York Racecourse, Racecourse Road, Knavesmire Road, York, YO23 1EX.
There will be FREE on-site parking off Knavesmire Rd, which will be signposted. There will also be marshals around the area if you need assistance. Public transport is encouraged as we expect the parking area to get busy quickly.
The baggage area will be next to the car park and finish line. Bags will all be left at your own risk.
Getting started
The start line will be signposted near the event entrance and the toilets will be located near the start and finish line. There will be no changing facilities available at the event.
The event will start at 11am with actor Richard Hawley officially setting you on your way. There will be a warm-up just before from PureGym. We will also have local radio station YO1 who will be entertaining you throughout the day to keep you upbeat and motivated.
We can’t control the weather, so please check the forecast in advance and dress appropriately. If it is hot, please be prepared with sun cream and a hat.
The course
The course itself will be just over 3 laps, passing through the start area each time, and there will be a water station provided on course at every lap.

When you finish
Once you have completed the race, you will be able to collect your medal and finisher’s bag from our volunteers and you will be sent your finish time by text.
There will be a spectator-friendly area with activities including a kickabout session with York FC, and a police car for all the family to enjoy.
Please provide your own refreshments as there will be no food stalls.
Event terms
In the unlikely event of abandonment or cancellation of the TEWV 10k, all or part of your entry fee may be retained for the management and administration of the event. No refunds or transfers are allowed under any circumstances.
