Since 2015, the NHS and the Ministry of Defence (MOD) have been working together on plans to enhance health and care services for Catterick Garrison and the wider Richmondshire area.
This joint collaboration – the first of its kind between the NHS and MOD – will bring integrated health and social care services to military personnel, their dependants and veterans, as well as residents in Catterick and the Richmondshire area.
Services at the centre will include primary care, rehabilitation, some specialist dental care, mental health support, and other specialist treatments. This will improve access to planned care closer to home.
Emergency and specialist hospital care will continue to be provided by existing local hospitals. The CICC will complement hospital services by expanding outpatient capacity and supporting earlier, more convenient access to routine and community-based care.
Teams relocating permanently
The following teams within our trust will be permanently relocating to the CICC:
- Vulnerable Veteran and Adult Dependents Service part of the North Yorkshire Talking Therapies (currently based at North Moor House)
- Adult mental health community west team (currently based at Colburn Surgery)
- Community mental health services for older people in Hambleton and Richmondshire (the Richmondshire team only)
- Services currently delivered from spaces used at Harewood GP Practice and Colburn Surgery will be hosted within the new CICC
Teams using clinic space within the centre
The following teams from TEWV will all use clinic space within the centre:
- Early intervention in psychosis (EIP)
- Eating disorders team
- Child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS)
- Perinatal mental health services
- Crisis service
Residents in Richmondshire will also have the opportunity to attend community roadshows ahead of the opening, which is scheduled for Summer 2026.
Health and care teams will visit libraries, village halls, markets and other community venues throughout March and April. They will explain which services will move into the new building, outline how the centre will enhance existing NHS provision, and listen to feedback from local people.
