The team provides assessment, advice and signposting for people experiencing mental health concerns or difficulties and who are subject to supervision from the probation service.
They may also provide advice to responsible officers about your needs.
With your consent, a registered mental health professional from our team will see you. They will give you the opportunity to talk about your concerns in a private setting and will conduct a face-to-face assessment of your needs as appropriate.
Following your assessment
We will discuss your needs and agree with you the best treatment options available. These can include:
- giving you advice about how to deal with your problems and keep well
- advising you about other services or agencies who can help you
- providing your responsible officer with advice and information to assist them in managing your case
- referring you to primary care services
- referring you back to your GP to discuss/review your medication
- referring you into secondary mental health services
- referring you to a specialist service for further assessments or advice (e.g. eating disorders, adult ADHD, autistic spectrum disorder)
- offering you up to six follow up sessions with the team.
You have the right to decline any appointment or involvement with the team.
Sensitive information will remain confidential as far as possible. However, information will be shared with other professional services should risks to yourself or others, including children, be identified.
Your GP may be informed of your meeting with the team.
