A ward manager has been nominated for a major award at a ceremony recognising those that have made a positive impact and made a difference to others.
Jade Jackson, who works in the secure inpatient service, at the Northdale Centre, Roseberry Park in Middlesbrough is shortlisted in the Preceptor of the Year category of the Nursing Times Workforce Summit and awards.
Jade was nominated for the inspirational support she gave to staff nurse, Terri McDermott on her preceptorship. Terri said:
When I started, I struggled with the environment and leadership role. Although not formally diagnosed, I’m autistic, Jade recognised this and provided extra support, she believed in me and helped me to build on my skills and confidence.
Always there to listen, advise and guide, Jade is patient, kind and caring and always brings the best in people and those she cares for.
The awards will be held at the Hilton London Metropole on Tuesday 21 November. Good luck Jade!
