Together in a Crisis provides flexible, non-clinical support to people whose life circumstances are contributing to their distress. These circumstances could include long-term medical conditions, bereavement, unemployment, addiction, or housing difficulties.
The support offered is personalised and based on each person’s circumstances. It often includes emotional support and help to access community resources, such as talking therapies, debt advice, training or education, and other support services.
The Together in a Crisis team begins by having a conversation with the person in distress, to identify the priorities and actions needed to support them. This is a great opportunity for the crisis services to establish stronger links for joint working and provide options for onward referrals. Each person is assigned a dedicated link worker, who will support them every step of the way.
The service recently went live on 1 March and will support at least 480 people each year.
