Nearly 200 nursing colleagues came together earlier this month to celebrate best practice and showcase the contributions of nursing staff in services across our Trust.
The event was hosted by mental health campaigner, stand up comedian and chief executive of Chasing the Stigma, Jake Mills. Delegates heard from leading NHS nurses Margaret Kitching, chief nurse North NHS England and NHS Improvement, and Julie Clennell, regional director of nursing – clinical quality NHS England – North East and Yorkshire, our own chief nurse Beverley Murphy as well as Jill Corbyn, director of Neurodiverse Connection and co-chair of the Local Government Association autism reference group, Trust colleagues Dawn Jessop, Helen Day, Elspeth Devanney and Jody Buxton.
Stalls were set up for the day highlighting the range of services, activities and support on offer and three of our therapy dogs and their owners stopped by to say hello.
With interactive workshops and buzz sessions it was a day of learning and inspiration.
