After almost five years at the helm, Brent has secured the position of Chief Executive at Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Trust.
Brent said: “It’s been an absolute privilege to lead the Trust since June 2020, and to have taken us through the first phase of Our Journey to Change, tackling quality and safety issues, and starting to see transformational change.
“It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure, and Team TEWV and our committed workforce is something that will stay with me. Now feels like the right time for me to move on to pastures new with a fresh challenge in acute and community services in Mid Yorkshire.
“I am proud of what we’ve achieved together and the meaningful change that has happened, which at times has been one of the biggest challenges of my career so far.
“However, I’m incredibly grateful to the Chairman, the Board, my team and colleagues for their unwavering support, advice and dedication. I want to thank partners from across the system and beyond for their support too. It’s been an honour.”
David Jennings, chair of our Trust said: “Brent has led the organisation through a very challenging time, and we are a much healthier position under his leadership, with clear signs of substantive and sustained improvement. This feels like a fitting legacy to his leadership, which he has delivered with compassion, dedication and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.
“He has set the tone for the type of organisation we strive to be and has shown exceptional leadership through one the most demanding and prolonged periods any chief executive could face.
“I’d like to put on record my personal thanks to Brent for strength, integrity and humility during unprecedented times, and whilst we are incredibly sad to see him go, he leaves with our absolute blessing and best wishes to the future.
“I will be working with the Board on the recruitment of Brent’s successor and will keep staff / partners informed on the next steps over the coming months.”
