Mental Health Awareness Week is a chance for all of us to pause, reflect, and take positive steps to support our wellbeing. This year’s theme is ‘Action’ — and one simple, effective way to take action for our mental health is by getting outside and walking.

ARCH Recovery College offers a range of welcoming walking groups designed to suit different abilities and interests. Options include gentle strolls, longer wellbeing walks, creative photography walks, and mindful Walking the Seasons sessions.
These walks provide a relaxed, non‑judgemental space where people can connect with others, enjoy the outdoors, and get moving — with no pressure to talk. Many students share that taking part in the walking groups has helped them reduce stress, improve their mood, and build confidence.
