Living our values
This award celebrates a person or team who goes above and beyond to live our Trust values of respect, compassion and responsibility. Their drive, commitment and support make a genuine difference to their colleagues, our patients, carers and partners.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- Compassion – being kind, supportive, recognising and celebrating our colleagues, patients, carers and partners
- Respect – listening, being inclusive and working in partnership
- Responsibility – being honest, learning and ambitious
This award is open to clinical and corporate colleagues and teams in our Trust.
Partnership working
This award showcases collaborations and partnerships driving positive change across our Trust.
We want to celebrate the partnerships delivering improvements and a better experience for our colleagues, patients, carers, partners or wider communities.
A person or team that is successfully working in partnership with external organisations, including charities, or another Trust team.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- Projects, innovations and services created in partnership
- Long term impact on our organisation, services or communities
This award is open to anyone working in partnership in our Trust. Nominations can also be entered by people who don’t work for us.
Excellence in learning
This award recognises a commitment to learning and development. A person or team who uses their time to attend additional training, learn new skills or conduct research to improve our services.
It can also celebrate a person dedicated to supporting others through their learning, including mentors, coaches and preceptors.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- How a person or team has made an improvement to any of our departments or services through their additional learning
- A person or team using their learning and knowledge to educate others
- A person or team going above and beyond to support learners, ensuring they feel valued and have opportunities to develop their own skills
This award is open to clinical and corporate colleagues and teams in our Trust.
Volunteer of the year
This award celebrates a person who has made a significant contribution to our Trust by giving their time freely. Someone who has created a positive impact for people in our care or our services.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- how the volunteer has made a significant difference to the lives of our patients, carers, colleagues or other volunteers
- outstanding commitment and enthusiasm to their role as a volunteer
This award is open to people who are not employed by our Trust but support us by giving their time freely.
Team of the year
This award will be presented to an outstanding team. A team of people with shared values that work together to make a positive impact in our Trust.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- How the team lives our Trust values of respect, compassion and responsibility
- How the team has worked together to deliver clear benefits to colleagues, patients, volunteers, involvement members, carers or partners
- Projects the team has successfully managed which demonstrate excellence in quality, innovation and productivity
- How they have supported each other within their team
This award is open to clinical and corporate teams in our Trust. It is not open to project teams set up on a temporary basis or co-creation projects.
Please note, if you are shortlisted and invited to the event, places will be limited to 10 per team.
Student of the year
This award celebrates a student who has accessed our Trust as part of their learning and development. Someone who already lives our values and helps to provide patient care and services in our Trust.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- Making a difference to an area they have been on placement
- How they have embraced all learning opportunities
- Showing initiative and being proactive in their own learning
- Successfully applying their learning to practice and continuing to develop their skills
This award is open to anyone who has worked in our Trust as a student at some point between 11 August 2024 to 11 August 2025.
Eligible roles include, but are not limited to:
- Student allied health professions (AHP), including occupational therapist, physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, dietitian
- Student nurse
- Registered nurse degree apprentice
- Student nursing associate apprentice
- NHS Finance Insights placement scheme
People’s star
This award is presented to an outstanding colleague. An exceptional person who has made a real difference to the experience of their colleagues, the people in our care, families or carers.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- Consistently going the extra mile for their colleagues, patients or carers to improve their experience, environment or wellbeing
- Making a difference by their words or actions
This award is open to clinical and corporate colleagues in our Trust.
Wellbeing contribution
This award recognises the outstanding work being done to promote and improve wellbeing throughout our Trust. This can include a person, activity or initiative run over the last year and may also include examples relating to equality, diversity and inclusion.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- Being committed and going the extra mile to support wellbeing
- Long term impact on the wellbeing of our colleagues, patients, partners or wider communities – big or small
This award is open to clinical and corporate colleagues and teams in our Trust.
Co-creation in action
This award celebrates an activity, campaign, project or new way of working that has been developed through co-creation over the last year.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- our staff, teams, involvement members, patients, carers and families working effectively towards a shared goal
- the voices of patients and carers being listened to and acted upon throughout the co-creation process
- the long-term impact on our services or organisation
This award is open to clinical and corporate colleagues and teams in our Trust. Please give details of everyone involved.
Co-creation champion
This award celebrates someone who keeps co-creation at the heart of everything they do. It could be an involvement member, patient, carer or colleague who works hard to learn about co-creation and uses it to improve our services.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- An understanding of the value of co-creation
- A compassionate, respectful and responsible approach to co-creation
- Someone who is always thinking about how something can be co-created and makes a significant effort to co-create within their role
- Someone who uses their own lived experience to co-create and improve our services
This award is open to involvement members, patients, carers or colleagues in our Trust.
Rising star
This award is presented to a person who is new to a role within our Trust and has already made an impact on their team or department. Someone who is ambitious, committed to learning, with an appetite to progress in their career.
We want to celebrate those people who think differently – striving to build partnerships and new ways of working in our Trust.
As well as the above, our judges will be looking for evidence and examples of:
- A commitment to learning and their personal development
- Someone who has gone above and beyond in their role to benefit a service we provide, another team, person, patient, carer or our Trust
- A person who has exceeded expectations in a particular area or project
- Someone who has consistently achieved and attained a high standard of work
They must be:
- Taking their first steps in their NHS career or started a new role within our Trust (three years or less)
This award is open to clinical and corporate colleagues in our Trust.
Chair’s award
This award will be presented to shortlisted nominees and winners of the other awards listed. The Chair will select one person or team who live our values, are brilliant at doing their job, and deserve a special mention for their positive and outstanding efforts during the year.
