RIDDOR Procedure
All TEWV staff need to be aware of the contents of this RIDDOR Procedure which refer to reportable injuries, notifiable diseases and dangerous occurrences which may occur within the Trust. There is a legal duty to report RIDDOR incidents to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) within a specified timescale. Reporting to the HSE can only be undertaken by the H&S Department after being advised by Services of a potential reportable incident/occurrence

Safe Staffing Levels Escalation Procedure (Inpatient)
The purpose of this document is to provide guidance on the daily management of the ward ensuring the optimal staffing levels are met which meet the patients’ needs as determined by risk and level of acuity. Additionally, when planned staffing levels are insufficient to meet current patient needs from an increased demand due to patient acuity, that staff are clear about how to escalate this for support from senior nurses and managers in order to identify and redeploy human resources to maintain safety as and when necessary.

Tear proof clothing procedure
Whilst staff will make every attempt to support an individual’s behaviour using the principles of Positive Behaviour Support and least Restrictive Practice, it is acknowledged that occasions may occur where due to the level of distress or presentation of a patient’s behaviour, staff will be required to restrict a patient’s access to their typical day time clothing providing them with special tear-proof clothing (TPC) as an alternative. This procedure details the requirements for safe use of TPC.
