2 November 2026
We are making improvements to our crisis assessment suite at Roseberry Park Hospital, to provide a better experience for people who need crisis support.
The work will refurbish and expand the current suite, providing more consultation rooms, a dedicated triage room and clinic space, improved waiting areas, a more visible reception and entrance, and a new office space and breakout room for staff.
It follows the Government’s plan to fund 59 dedicated mental health emergency departments across the country and a growing demand for crisis support.
Once finished, it will provide a calmer and safer space to support people experiencing a mental health crisis in our region.
When will work start?
Work is expected to start in early November until April 2027.
Will the crisis assessment suite close?
The crisis assessment suite will remain open and you should continue to use the service in the same way you do now.
How will people access the crisis assessment suite (CAS)?
The entrance to the crisis assessment suite will change while the works take place. There will be signage in place, but please ask a member of staff if you are unsure.
From 9 November to 10 January 2027: it is expected that access to the crisis assessment suite will be through the current side entrance throughout this time.
From 11 January to 21 March 2027: access to the crisis assessment suite will be through the Dalesway main reception. Temporary signage will be in place.
From 22 March onwards: the newly refurbished CAS side entrance is expected to re-open as the main access route, subject to confirmation.
What else can I expect?
- You will see temporary walls/hoarding in place.
- The café seating area will be open as normal.
- The building work may be noisy at times and you may also see builders near reception. We will try to keep disruption to a minimum.
- Please follow the temporary signs. Reception, ward and CAS staff can also help you.
- Stamp Advocacy will move to Activity Street on 23 October 2026. Please ask a member of staff if you need help finding the new location.
We recognise the disruption this may cause and appreciate your support while we make these improvements.
