CAMHS stands for child and adolescent mental health services.
We work with children and young people from 0-18 year’s, and are a first point of contact to any individual who is concerned about a child or young person’s emotional wellbeing.
Our services promote positive emotional health and wellbeing.
We will work with you and your family when you are feeling sad, worried or troubled.
We provide a range of activities and interventions that help promote and develop young people’s skills, and their family relationships.
We provide techniques for positive parenting, and support other professionals who provide support to children and young people in mental health promotion, early recognition and early prevention of problems.
Direct face-to-face work
Young people who experience emotional wellbeing difficulties may be offered any one or a combination of the following interventions:
- Individual or group support
- Family support
- Supportive work with parents
- Support to other professionals that work with you
Education and training
We provide education and training to families and professionals who provide support to children and young people.

Our aim is to compliment and enhance knowledge of issues which impact upon the children and young people’s social and emotional wellbeing and mental health.
