Adult mental health dietitians work together with service users to improve knowledge and awareness of nutrition. Individuals are supported by dietitians to help increase or reduce weight and formulate regular eating patterns.
Adult mental health dietitians receive referrals from hospital and community adult mental health teams , providing regular support to hospital wards and outpatient clinics. Dietitians reguarly meet with the inpatient catering service to ensure that healthy balanced meals are provided during hospital admission.
The team also provides education sessions to both patients and healthcare professionals.
The adult mental health dietetic team continue to support and develop the Trust pathways and provide supervision to other dietitians and students.
