We’re delighted to announce that the Humber and North Yorkshire Resilience Hub has been shortlisted for the Staff Wellbeing Initiative Award at this year’s Health Service Journal (HSJ) Patient Safety Awards.
About the awards
The HSJ Patient Safety Awards recognises and acknowledges the hard-working teams and individuals across the UK who are continually striving to deliver improvements in safety, culture and positive experiences in patient care.
The Hub provide specialist mental health support and proactive outreach to all health, care and emergency service staff across Humber and North Yorkshire. It’s one of just over 200 organisations, projects and individuals to be shortlisted in the awards across 25 categories.
About the Hub
The Humber and North Yorkshire Resilience Hub began in 2021 as part of a collaborative partnership, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim being to offer additional wellbeing support to staff during this difficult time. It’s an independent, confidential route for staff to access specialist mental health support.
To date the service has treated over 2500 individuals. It’s also provided team-based support to over 3000 staff through interventions such as critical incident response, reflective practice and training.
Over the last three years the service has delivered outstanding clinical outcomes, as well as having significant positive impacts on the health and care workforce. It’s innovative approach has reduced sickness absence and supported retention and workforce satisfaction.

The Humber and North Yorkshire Resilience Hub is funded and supported by NHS England and the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership. The service is delivered by our Trust, in partnership with NAViGO and City Health Care Partnership. They also receive local support from Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber (RDaSH) NHS Foundation Trust and Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.
When the awards take place
The HSJ Patient Safety Awards are a highlight of the HSJ’s annual two-day Patient Safety Congress (taking place 16-17 September), where delegates working at the forefront of safety, quality and clinical excellence come together to discuss patient safety.
