Last Friday, staff members and service users from the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) teams met up for the first time to play a game or two of rounders in Thirsk in the lead up to their Voyage of recovery adventure in August
The sailing trip is part of a unique approach to working with young people and adults who have experienced psychosis by using adventure therapy.
The therapy has been proven to help support people on their recovery journey – by offering opportunities for growth and self-development through challenging activities.
The team will be setting sail from Hartlepool on Saturday 31 August and will finish in Ipswich on Friday 5 September and will have fifteen individuals and three professional sailors on board.
EIP teams from all over the country take part in the challenge and this is the fourth year the EIP team from the trust have taken part along-side the Royal Yachting Association accreditation.
We will be keeping up to date on their swash-buckling adventure so keep an eye out for more updates…
