The Trust’s council of governors has confirmed the appointment of our new chairman.
Miriam Harte will take over from Lesley Bessant when she retires at the end of March 2019, for an initial term of office of three years.
Miriam joins us with a wealth of experience in the NHS having spent the last 12 years as a non-executive director. She was on the board at City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust for nine years and, most recently was a non-executive director with Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust. She is also a chartered accountant and has extensive business experience.
Cllr Ann McCoy, the lead governor at TEWV, said: “We’re delighted to have made this appointment.
“We’re looking forward to benefitting from Miriam’s broad experience and knowledge and to working with her over the coming months and years.”
Miriam Harte added: “I’m looking forward to working with the Board of Governors, the Trust Board, our staff and service users to ensure that TEWV continues to provide excellent mental health services that meet the needs of the people in our communities.
“It will be a privilege to play my part in making sure service users, their families and carers remain at the centre of everything we do.”
