We have been working alongside coaching expert Andy Gilbert and his company ThinkOn to embed a culture of solution focused thinking across the organisation.
A team of master coaches, trained in ThinkOn methodology have been working with staff from across the Trust in new ways of approaching the decision making process, empowering them to take ownership of issues and work together to make positive changes.
A review conducted half way through the three year project highlighted successes including improved staff wellbeing, retention and management skills. It also highlighted significant cost savings, additional investments in frontline services and reduced time spent in meetings.
Sarah Dexter Smith, director of therapies and lead coach at TEWV said: “The impact of this work has cut across individuals, teams and organisational processes.
“The methodology has helped refine our thinking and has empowered us to slow down and make sure we’re investing time in the right key issue, have a clear shared goal and a strong reason why we are trying to make change.
“Developing a shared language and framework for shared problem solving has helped us to have better conversations and explore possibilities that can help us continue to improve our services for the benefit of those in our care.”
