The brand new Parkside Mental Health Resource Centre in Middlesbrough is now open.
Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust has invested over £2m as part of its commitment to modernise the way in which it provides mental health services.
The new community mental health resource centre opened its doors today, Monday 19 December, providing a modern purpose-designed environment for people with mental health conditions who need to access our community adult mental health services. Service users have been involved throughout the interior design process choosing colour schemes and wall art which now adds to the welcoming environment.
The building provides a base for Middlesbrough adult mental health teams previously located at both Phoenix Lodge in Middlesbrough and Lakeside in Hemlington.
The building includes consultation, therapy and meeting rooms for the benefit of our service users and staff along with disabled access. All meeting rooms have been designed so that they have flexible use, with one being designed to accommodate art therapy sessions.
David Brown, director of operations for Teesside said: “This brand new Parkside Mental Health Resource Centre is a very welcome asset for both our Middlesbrough service users and staff.
“Parkside provides a community team hub for the four adult mental health teams across Middlesbrough offering assessment, support, treatment and therapies to those who need specialist secondary mental health services”.
