Lotto supports learning disability serviceKilton View day service is awarded 10k for a sensory garden and summerhouse by the Big Lottery Fund.
Following months of information gathering and form filling, staff from Kilton View in Brotton, were delighted to hear that they had been awarded £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund for a new sensory garden and summer house.
The application for funding was made by Dawn Teeley, clinical administrator who said “Kilton View is a day service for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities. The service can be a busy and noisy environment and some of our service users prefer more peaceful surroundings.
“Having a summer house will mean the sensory garden can be used all year round which will make a huge difference to our clients.
“We also hope that it will act as a community hub and plan to host coffee mornings, socials and sensory and craft sessions for service users, their families and carers.”
