Deafness workshops to celebrate Deaf Awareness WeekOur Trust is celebrating Deafness Awareness Week 2017 (15-21 May) in partnership with ARCH Recovery College, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, Middlesbrough Mind and Stockton Mind by holding two deaf awareness workshops.
Two, three hour workshops will be held for our service users, carers, their families and Trust staff to attend. Both workshops will include basic deaf awareness training - including British Sign Language practice, the impacts of deafness on wellbeing and health and the deaf recovery package “All about Me” – identity/communication.
The first workshop available will be held at ARCH Recovery College in Durham on Thursday 18 May, 1-4pm and the second will be held at Connect Recovery College, The Mind Centre in Middlesbrough on Friday 19 May 10am-1pm.
