Newtondale is part of the Trust's adult mental health forensic service.

Treatments and therapies
There are various therapies that can be offered by psychology or nursing staff dependent upon individual need, including work on substance misuse, arson or talking therapies.
The ward team
During a stay on the ward, patients will be cared for by a multi disciplinary team.
The team is made up of qualified nurses, consultant psychiatrists, junior doctors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and nursing assistants.
Multi disciplinary team meetings usually occur every week. multi disciplinary team meetings will allow the patient the opportunity to discuss their care with the people involved.
How to access the service
Referrals to the service are received from Prisons, high secure hospitals, the private sector and other NHS inpatient facilities.
Once a referral is received, it is allocated to a team and an assessment will be carried out as to whether the service would be beneficial to the individual.
Activities on the ward
