Artwork is a prominent feature in the new Cross Lane Hospital. The bright canvases and photographs were chosen with the help of the hospital's patient groups.

The photographs include local people from Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale and they are placed in relevant places within the hospital. For example, the corridor leading to the dining area has photographs on the wall of local food harvesting, prepping and cooking. This makes recognition easier for dementia patients.

There is also distinctive artwork in the gardens at Cross Lane Hospital which include tactile wall ceramics for patients to touch and feel.
