What we do

The research and development team work across the whole of the trust linking closely with clinical teams and service users offering a variety of local, national and international research studies to ensure cutting edge, evidence based care.  We offer research opportunities to our service users, raise awareness of clinical trials and promote national campaigns.

Team Photopow

The research and development team are available to help if you are interested in conducting your own research. We work in partnership with a number of organisations to widen research opportunities for our service users. We are currently working with Emergence, a national service user led organisation, with the aim of setting up a research project designed and led by people with experience of personality disorder.

Performance reports

As a Trust we are currently measured against two national benchmarks; performance on initiating and delivering interventional clinical research.

Performance in initiation – it should take no more than 70 days from receipt of a valid research application to the Research and Development department, to the recruitment of the first patient, regardless of funder or NIHR CRN Portfolio.

Performance in delivery – for commercial contract clinical trials hosted by the Trust, the agreed number of patients must be recruited within the agreed recruitment period.

The Trust now has to submit quarterly performance reports to the Department of Health setting out our performance. Our latest submissions can be seen here:
