A 12 week consultation on improving adult and older peoples’ mental health services across Hambleton and Richmondshire closed in September 2017.
The Governing Body of NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group unanimously agreed on Friday 27 October 2017 to support option two of the consultation. This was:
To provide enhanced community and crisis services with inpatient care provided when necessary at the nearest neighbouring hospital in either Darlington or Middlesbrough. Older patients with very severe organic mental health problems will go to Auckland Park Hospital in Bishop Auckland, which is the nearest specialist hospital for these patients.
There is more information about the consultation on the NHS Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby CCG’s website www.hambletonrichmondshireandwhitbyccg.nhs.uk/transforming-mental-health-services or you can contact the CCG by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01609 797600.
