We are delighted to announce a fantastic training opportunity for IAPT staff both within, and outside of the Trust to train as Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) teachers.
We have been appointed by Health Education England as the North of England Mindfulness Training Centre in a national programme to deliver Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) teacher training between March 2018 and March 2019.
On successful completion of the training, you will be able to deliver this NICE approved evidence-based therapeutic approach for people with recurrent depression within your IAPT service.
About Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy training
This training is designed to increase access to Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) in improving access to psychological therapies (IAPT) services across England.
Teaching MBCT requires a personal interest and experience of mindfulness meditation practices. Applicants are therefore required to demonstrate a commitment to an ongoing, regular personal mindfulness practice and will ideally have participated in an MBCT group as a participant.
Who can apply
The training, which is free of charge and funded by Health Education England is open to high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) therapists with at least one year’s post-qualification experience, working in improving access to psychological therapy services.
Anyone based in Yorkshire, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cumbria and Isle of Man can apply for the North of England Training Centre.
