The Trust's Introduction to leadership for service users, carers and advocates programme 2017 aims to:

  • support service users, carers and advocates with career and personal development
  • work together to develop leadership skills - to share ideas and experiences and learn from each other
  • support and encourage service users, carers and advocates to be effective in influencing and contributing to service improvements
  • empower service users, carers and advocates within their own local services
  • encourage participants to create and sustain a self supporting network.

2017 is the 18th programme and will cover:

  • what is leadership
  • interactions
  • coaching conversations
  • improving personal effectiveness
  • participating in and chairing meetings
  • time management
  • personal developement toolkit
  • co-production
  • difficult conversations
  • team working.

2017 programme sessions will take place on:

  • Taster session: Wednesday 26 April, 10am-noon (with lunch from noon - 1pm)
  • Day 1: Monday 22 May, 10am-4pm
  • Day 2: Tuesday 20 June, 10am-4pm
  • Day 3: Friday 21 July, 10am-4pm
  • Day 4: Wednesday 13 September, 10am-4pm
  • Day 5: Monday 9 October, 10am-4pm
  • Day 6: Wednesday 15 November, 10am-4pm
  • Day 7: Monday 11 December, 10am-4pm
