About the service

The all age liaison and diversion service offers assessment and advice for people who experience mental health concerns / difficulties.

We may also provide advice to criminal justice system staff in respect of your needs whilst in their care.

The professional you have seen is a registered mental health worker. They should have given you the opportunity to talk about your concerns in a private setting.

All sensitive information will remain confidential as far as possible.  However, information will be shared with other professional services, should risks to yourself or others, including children, be identified.

Your GP may be informed of your meeting with the team.

  • Advice and support for people in the Criminal Justice System who have mental health needs
  • Liaison with other professionals involved with you
  • Information about other services
  • Signposting to other services

Assessment

  • Individual assessment  of your needs whilst in custody
  • To contribute to risk assessments with relation to mental health issues

Access

  • To arrange access to appropriate mental health or learning disability services
